Lightning

An active lightning protection system is an atmospheric high-pulse voltage protection device made from stainless steel that does not contain any radioactive or electrical voltage devices. Air terminal emits a high-pulse voltage signal at a precisely defined and controlled frequency and amplitude. Energy is sourced from the ambient electrical field present during a storm. The resulting arresting of the lightning discharge is efficient with controlled routing to a specified grounding point thanks to the protective umbrella formed over the protected structures.

WAT Franklinplus is a new active lightning protection technology developed in the USA using a highly sophisticated electronic device based on the latest research into plasma technologies and electronic lasers to significantly increase precision and reliability. Thanks to their robust design, WAT Franklinplus active lightning conductors function in the worst weather conditions for their entire design life cycle of 50 years. WAT Franklinplus active lightning conductors are manufactured in the European Union and certified under the NF C 17-102:2011 standard.

We offer top-of-the-class active WAT Franklinplus lightning rods for outdoor protection from lightning and overvoltage. Safely captured flash is conducted to the ground using a lead line (exposed/hidden) connected to the earthing switch. In specific cases, flashes are conducted by insulated ISODC, ISOnV lead cables from nVent ERICO, constructed in accordance with IEC 62305 requirements, or by shielded Ericore lead cable. We offer top lightning arresters and overvoltage protection made by LEUTRON for internal protection from lightning and overvoltage. All the necessary calculations are provided with the use of the KERAUN® program, developed in cooperation with Astra MS Software s.r.o. Zlín, Czech Republic.
